Whitney Pope, Nurse Manager at the IMSMP

Meet Whitney Pope! Whitney is our Nurse Manager and has worked at the IMSMP since April 2014.

After graduating from SUNY Downstate in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Whitney embarked on her nursing journey at the IMSMP. Throughout her tenure, she has made significant contributions to our clinical team, fostering strong connections with patients and colleagues. In 2019, Whitney obtained MS certification, earning the esteemed title of Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse (MSCN). This distinguished credential highlights her specialized knowledge and proficiency in various domains of multiple sclerosis nursing, including clinical practice, advocacy, education, and research. Recognized worldwide, this certification serves as a testament to her unwavering dedication to the field of MS Nursing.

As our Nurse Manager, Whitney leads our nursing team in delivering exceptional patient care. Her primary focus and area of expertise lie in providing education and implementing symptom management strategies for MS patients, aiming to enhance their overall quality of life.

Whitney has also run three NYC Marathons with #TeamTischMS to raise funds and awareness for research at the Tisch MS Research Center of New York.

Armistead D. Williams III, MD

Meet Armistead D. Williams III, MD. Dr. Williams is a Senior Attending and Associate Medical Director at the International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice. He joined the IMSMP in 2007 after completing a two-year neuroimmunology fellowship with Dr. Sadiq.

He received his BA with majors in biology and studio art at the University of Virginia. He received his MD and completed his medical internship at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He trained in neurology at The Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost neurology centers. During his residency, he was awarded the 2005 Daniel Sciarra Patient Care Award for outstanding patient care and humanism.

He has been recognized in New York Magazines Top Doctors in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Dr. Williams has also been recognized in Castle Connolly Top Doctor New York Metro Area in the field of Neurology: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016.

Yadira LaMazza, BA, MSW

Meet Yadira! Yadira has been working at the IMSMP for the past 19 years. Yadira initiated and implemented the Women’s Group, Coed Group, Caregivers Group, and Newly Diagnosed Group at the IMSMP, which is offered complimentary alongside individual sessions for IMSMP patients.
