Meet our team!
Meet Courtney Rutherford, RN, BSN, MSCN! Courtney joined our clinical nursing team back in August 2019 and has been an integral part of our staff ever since. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Rochelle and began her nursing career at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2017, where she initially worked in the Neurology and Neurosurgery unit.
Over the course of two years spent on the Neurology Unit, Courtney gained valuable experience in MS care. Motivated by her desire to establish long-term patient relationships, she sought a clinical environment that aligned with her goals.
Now, with four years of dedicated service at IMSMP, Courtney is a Senior Clinical Nurse and has earned the title of Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse (MSCN). Courtney’s primary focus is on the coordination of infusion therapies for our patients. Courtney's commitment to delivering top-tier care is exemplified through her commitment to helping patients manage their disease, offering support, and sharing invaluable guidance.
Courtney values the collaboration with our esteemed clinical team and treasures her daily interactions with our patients. Her goal remains unwavering; to build long-term relationships with patients and make a meaningful impact in their lives.

Meet Jessica Steffens, RN, BSN, MSCN, a valued member of our clinical nursing team since January 2019. Jessica's journey began with the completion of her BSN at Concordia College, following which she started working at NYP Weill Cornell. After nearly a year of dedicated bedside nursing, Jessica desired a deeper patient connection, leading her to join IMSMP.
With nearly 5 years of dedication to IMSMP, Jessica earned a Multiple Sclerosis Nurse Certification, and has risen to the role of Senior Clinical Nurse, specializing in stem cell procedures. Her primary focus at IMSMP is to maintain the highest level of patient care by fostering meaningful relationships with both patients and their families. Jessica truly loves coming to work each day and her passion for her work is reflected in her daily enthusiasm and her cherished relationships with her fellow IMSMP nurses.
Jessica is an integral member of the nursing team and hopes to continue to help enhance the nursing care we provide at the IMSMP.
 
 
Meet our team!
Meet Jaclyn Spechler. Jaclyn has been a part of our rehabilitation team as our Occupational Therapist since 2019. After graduating from Bucknell University with a BA in Psychology, she pursued her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. She worked in a psychiatric hospital and various nursing homes before joining the team at IMSMP.
In 2021, Jaclyn obtained her Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP) certification. In addition to her ATP, Jaclyn holds a certification as a Certified Neuro Specialist (CNS). At the IMSMP, her main goal is to help each individual stay safe and independent while providing modifications and adaptations along the way.

Meet Valentina Assenova! Valentina has been with the IMSMP since January of 2017.
Valentina earned her Bachelor’s degree at the College of Staten Island. Her previous experience in a busy oncology unit was the foundation to her expertise with peripheral vascular access.
Valentina is the Assistant Nurse manager of the Infusion Suite who specializes in administering intravenous medications in a gentle fashion, always prioritizing maximum comfort and satisfaction for her patients. She brings a skill set that is truly unique, as she is also a certified apheresis nurse, able to perform various procedures including TPE.
Valentina is a passionate, caring and dedicated nurse who aims to provide exceptional care to all of her infusion patients.
