Grand Rounds: June 10th, 2015

Nancy Chiaravalloti, PhD, the director of the Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Laboratory and Traumatic Brain Injury Laboratory at Kessler Foundation Research Center, discussed various strategies for cognitive rehabilitation. Dr. Chiaravalloti noted that 65% of MS patients suffer from cognitive impairment—many reporting difficulties with memory and processing speed. A large part of her presentation focused on a new study for which the IMSMP is a participating site: Memory and Multiple Sclerosis. This study examines the effects of a memory retraining technique on patients with progressive MS.
