Dance Classes Starting at the IMSMP





 
Starting May 17th, the IMSMP will host dance classes for our patients and their spouses/caregivers. Classes will be held Tuesdays in our Judi Volk-Weiss Wellness Center on the 3rd floor.

Classes will include: 
Seated ballet class at 11:00am
Standing ballet class at 5:30pm

Seated Ballet

This 60-minute, fully seated class will incorporate upper and lower body movements. While keeping with the traditional structure and fluidity of a ballet class, there will also be some modern movements incorporated to increase mobility, flexibility, and core strength.  

Standing Ballet 

This 60-minute class will be based on a traditional ballet barre and focus on musicality, coordination, and full-body muscle involvement. The class will prioritize the fundamentals of ballet while encouraging artistic expression throughout the class.  

Meet the Instructor: 
Originally from Canada, Kim received her professional dance training in New York City from The Ailey School and Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance.  Kim has been teaching dance for over 10 years, and is currently studying Kinesiology. Kim is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her love of dance with patients of the IMSMP!
