The International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice is seeking a neurologic physical therapist to join our rehabilitation team.

Job Title: Physical Therapist

Location: 521 West 57th Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10019 

Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000 per year (commensurate with experience) 

Position Type: Full Time (On-site, Monday–Friday)

The International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice together with our research affiliate, Tisch MS Research Center of New York are currently the largest MS center in the world designed to deliver the very best of applied research and individual-based care for people with MS. We have a full-time staff of over 90 people. From nurses to administrators, neurologists to scientists, our staff is dedicated to ensuring an unparalleled experience at our Center. Our mission is to provide the best care in the world for people with multiple sclerosis.
 

Job Overview
The International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice is seeking a neurologic physical therapist to join our rehabilitation team. Sessions take place in a state-of-the-art facility catered to patients who are undergoing various stages of multiple sclerosis. This individual will join a concierge-style rehabilitation department within a neurology medical practice servicing patients from across the globe.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform and document evaluations and treatments sessions including customized plans of care. All sessions are one-on-one and last between 60 and 90 minutes.
• Document patient information and communicate with clinical staff through center’s EMR system. Interdepartmental communication occurs with the occupational therapist, neurologists, nursing staff, social workers, administrative staff and billing department.
• All patients seen by the rehabilitation department are direct referrals from one of our four in-house neurologists. Appropriate care plans will be implemented based on discussions and input from PT, MD and the patient.
• Attend interdepartmental clinical meetings to discuss current patient status.
• Provide recommendations for appropriate usage of durable medical equipment including, but not limited to, assistive devices, wheelchairs, orthoses, and exercise equipment.
• Provide patients with a home exercise program and/or referral to appropriate rehabilitation services. Adjust treatment sessions and home exercise programs as needed. Provide education to family and/or caregivers when applicable.
• Patient handling skills, including transfers, are necessary throughout sessions. Training will be provided for site specific protocols.
• Occasional administrative responsibilities to help department run smoothly.
• Stay abreast of industry updates, including advances in physical therapy, government regulations, and health insurance changes.
• Ensure you adhere to HIPAA and documentation regulations as required by federal, state, and local agencies.

Job Qualifications
• Strong communication skills and a passion for patient-centered care
• Ability to work effectively both as a part of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills
• BLS certification
• Licensed by New York State as a Physical Therapist
• Doctorate from an accredited program of Physical Therapy
• Three years of clinical experience (preferred)
• Experience working in neurorehabilitation (preferred)

Administrative Assistant

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a critical role in creating a welcoming and professional environment. This position includes front desk responsibilities as well as administrative coordination, with a focus on serving as a liaison between our clinical practice and patient care. The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with compassion and discretion.


Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and check in/outpatients at the front desk, managing a positive and professional first impression
• Answer and screen incoming calls; assist patients in person, via phone, or email with empathy and clarity
• Schedule appointments across departments and manage patient flow efficiently
• Perform administrative tasks including accurate record-keeping and interdepartmental coordination
• Maintain confidentiality and compassion when handling sensitive medical information
• Foster cooperative and respectful relationships with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff
• Help maintain a calm, patient-centered environment
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher preferred
• Prior experience in a fast-paced customer service role (healthcare setting a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Compassionate and patient-focused mindset
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Professional demeanor and strong sense of discretion
• Team player who thrives in a collaborative clinical environment
